When someone asks me for an additional lei to give, I always revert to this special candy lei wrapped in a red foil cellophane with Good luck characters. The Chinese characters represent: Fu: blessings, good fortune, good luck. Fu is one of the most popular characters used during the Chinese New Year. It is often posted upside down on the front door of a dwelling. The upside down character fu means “good luck came”, since the character representing “upside down” in Chinese sounds the same as “good luck has come.” This lei is perfect for well-wishes and is often given at weddings and graduations.
